HELPING LOCAL KIDS GET BACK IN THE GAME COMMUNITY SPORTS GRANT NOW OPEN - 25 aUGUST, 2025

Federal Member for Lyne, Alison Penfold MP, is encouraging local community sports clubs and organisations to apply for the newly launched Swysh Future Stars Grant, which opened recently in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).

The grant provides up to $5,000 worth of sporting equipment to eligible community sports clubs with members aged 20 or younger, aiming to ease financial pressure on families and help more young Australians stay active and involved in sport.

“This is a great chance for local clubs to get much-needed equipment – including replacements for gear lost in the May floods - and reduce the cost of participating in sport for young people and their families,” Ms Penfold said.

“We know that for many households, the cost of living is hitting hard. This grant is a practical way to help clubs lower barriers and make sure sport stays affordable and inclusive in our region.”

Funded by Swysh and delivered through the ASF, the program provides high-quality equipment supplied by HART Sport. Grants are equipment only, rather than cash funding.

Applications are open now and will close at 11:59pm (AEST) on Sunday, 31 August 2025.

Clubs and organisations are encouraged to visit the ASF SmartyGrants portal before applying, where they can download the Future Stars Grant Guidelines and FAQs to help give their application the best chance of success.

“I’d love to see clubs from right across the Lyne electorate get involved,” Ms Penfold said. “It’d be fantastic to see some great new sporting gear turning up in our local sheds and clubhouses thanks to this grant.”
